Google has introduced a new way to make searching on mobile touch devices easier. Recognizing that typing is a little inconvenient especially in touch devices such as smartphones and tablets, Google introduces the ability to hand-write your search queries directly on Google Search interface. To set-up your smartphone, just log-on to Google.com in your mobile browser and tap the tap the Settings at the lower portion of the screen. From there, you can activate the Handwrite option. On tablets, log-on to Google.com, tap the gear icon at the top right portion of the Google interface and go to Search Settings. On the Search Settings page, activate the Handwrite option.

Handwrite for Mobile is still experimental and may work better in some browsers than others. Currently, Google enabled this this feature in iOS5+ devices, Android 2.3+ phones and Android 4.0+ tablets, in 27 languages.

Although Google has diversified into other technology sectors such as software, power, communication and hardware (via acquisition of Motorola Mobility), Search Advertising still comprises majority of Google’s earnings. Currently having 66.4% share in the lucrative Search market (March 2012 data from comScore), Google is still the giant of the internet search industry. With that, it will be no surprise that Google invests much in innovating their most profitable product.
